The words on your Android phone or tablet are too small. Here's how to make them bigger.
You can make the words bigger on most Android phones and tablets. It takes about a minute and you can change it back any time.
This page is for you if
- The words are hard to read
- Texts and emails look tiny
- Buttons and icons are too small
Good to know first
These are Google's steps for Android 13 and up. Menus can look a little different on Samsung and other phones and tablets. The search bar in Settings works on most devices.
Do these steps
-
Step 1: Open Settings
Open your device's Settings app.
-
Step 2: Search for Font size
Tap the search bar at the top of Settings. Type font size and tap Font size in the results.
-
Step 3: Move the slider
Move the slider to the right to make words bigger. You'll see a preview. Stop when it's easy to read.
Make buttons and pictures bigger too
-
Step 1: Search for Display size
Go back to Settings. Search for display size and tap Display size.
-
Step 2: Move the slider
Move the slider to the right. This makes everything on the screen bigger, not just the words.
Good to know
- Bold text makes letters thicker and easier to see. In Settings, tap Accessibility, then Display size and text, and turn on Bold text.
- Some apps don't follow the font size setting. That's normal.
- To undo it, tap Reset settings on the same screen to go back to the original sizes.
Check it with the source
We wrote these steps from these official pages. If your screen looks different, the official page is always right.
